Green Tea is made from the leaves of Camelia Sinensis plant. The leaves are plucked, withered a little & immediately cooked, to prevent oxidization. As a consequence, this unoxidized tea has a much higher amount of polyphenols, chlorophyll & other antioxidants than other teas.
Green tea is generally grown at high- altitudes of Darjeeling. The Darjeeling variety has an astringent taste. Whereas, green teas grown in Nilgiris, South India, have a strong flavor & vegetal notes. Green tea is said to be one of the healthiest beverages. It has high quantities of antioxidants which may improve brain function & may protect from Alzheimer's & Parkinson's disease. This tea is rich in poly- phenols, which is anti-inflammatory & helps in fighting certain types of cancer.
It also prevent cell damage. Weight can be managed by regular consumption of green tea. It also lowers the risk of heart disease & helps manage diabetes.
Exercise caution, as over brewing may give a bitter taste.
